Union Karate Club was proud to host our first Combined Training event on Saturday, August 22, bringing together karate students and instructors from across Mississippi.
We were excited to welcome students and instructors from Philadelphia Karate Club, Elite Karate Center, Laurel Karate Club, and Greenville/Cleveland Karate Club to train alongside our students. Having several dojos come together gave everyone the opportunity to work with different instructors and training partners while getting some extra practice in.
The timing couldn’t have been better with rank testing coming up. Students worked on kihon, kata, and other skills they will need as they continue preparing for their next rank. It was also a great opportunity for our students to step outside their normal routine and experience training with karateka from other clubs.
We are especially proud of our Union Karate Club students. They trained hard, represented our dojo well, and looked strong working alongside students from the other clubs.
One of our goals for Union Karate Club has always been to give our students as many opportunities as possible to learn, grow, and experience karate beyond their regular weekly classes. Events like this allow us to do that while also building friendships and connections within our larger karate community.
Thank you to the instructors, students, and families from Philadelphia Karate Club, Elite Karate Center, Laurel Karate Club, and Greenville/Cleveland Karate Club who made the trip to Union and helped make our first Combined Training a success. We truly enjoyed having everyone in our dojo and look forward to training together again!
